De oorspronkelijke twee woonhuizen op deze plek werden in de 19de eeuw samengevoegd tot één groot pand. Het huidige complex dateert van 1902 en herbergde het 'Institut Communal de Demoiselles'. Later kwam op de begane grond een groentezaak. Een lift bezorgde het toenmalige Hôtel du Nord in 1965 een nieuw elan. Het huidige Hôtel Polaris is in restauratie met het oog op een nieuwe bestemming.

Bistro Bar Bootel Ahoi is located approx. 500 m from the Grote Markt and the Broel Towers, approx. 1 km from the train station and approx. 3 km from the trade fair Kortrijk Expo. serves + 30 Belgian beers, including draft lager, Paix Dieu, Brugse Zot and St. Bernardus, selected wines, top cocktails and a nice range of mocktails. Open from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Closed on Sundays from October through May.
