Built in 1929 as a grand summerhouse for General Timmerman by architect Vaerwyck, inspired by the famous English architect Lutyens.

Het Zonnehuis has been completely restored and redecorated by Bertrand Depry and Jan Vermast.

The house is now an exclusive Bed & Breakfast and regained its former grandeur. Het Zonnehuis has 4 luxury rooms, a Junior suite and a holiday house for 4 persons.

The large breakfast has also a British touch: English marmalades, English cheese, smoked salmon, eggs are made à la minute, Brussels waffles, fresh juice, yoghurt, granola and fresh fruit salad. Bread is coming from the bakery in the village. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 11 a.m. at the big table, the small table or at the heated terrace.

Blankenberge, the pearl of the Belgian coast, offers a range of activities. You can stroll along the endless beach or the beautiful sea front. Perhaps you prefer to try your luck in the "New Casino" or explore the underwater world at Sea Life Park. Additionally you may go shopping in one of the many atmospheric shops of Blankenberge. The beautiful Bruges is at only 14 km so by train or car you’re very quickly in this historic city.

The 3 km long and 350m wide beach and the dunes are very popular with people who love the beach, sunbathing and hiking. People who enjoy an active holiday will also be able to retrieve their hearts to the beach during many activities, as well as in Blankenberge city and surroundings.
