The Golfhotel Zoute is situated in the most calm and residential area of Knokke. This area, called "Het Zoute" is located near the unspoiled nature reserve "Het Zwin". Later kwam op de begane grond een groentezaak. Een lift bezorgde het toenmalige Hôtel du Nord in 1965 een nieuw elan. Het huidige Hôtel Polaris is in restauratie met het oog op een nieuwe bestemming.
